According to General Director of the Russian Export Center Veronika Nikishina, this year Russian exporters will hold more than 650 meetings with partners from other countries at the exhibition site

Russian companies signed contracts worth 5.9 billion rubles ($64 mln) following participation in last year’s exhibition of the food industry and agro-industrial sector Gulfood 2023, General Director of the Russian Export Center (REC) Veronika Nikishina told TASS.

“I am confident that the exhibition will become a platform for many business contacts and successful transactions. <…> Last year we concluded contracts worth 5.9 billion rubles thanks to our work at Gulfood. As a rule, financial indicators are only growing every year,” she said on the sidelines of the Gulfood 2024 exhibition, which is under way in Dubai.

According to the head of the center, this year Russian exporters will hold more than 650 meetings with partners from other countries at the exhibition site.

“We traditionally prepare a rich business program for our companies as part of our exhibition events. More than 650 B2B meetings are planned this year, and we are looking forward to their results,” Nikishina said.

She also noted that the center implements a “wide range of mechanisms” to support exporters to promote products of the Russian agro-industrial sector both in the UAE market and in other Gulf countries.

According to Nikishina, the center encourages companies to participate in major international events like Gulfood by subsidizing the costs of organizing exhibitions. In addition, it provides Russian exporters with the opportunity to place products free of charge in exhibition pavilions permanently operating in Vietnam, Egypt, China, the UAE, Saudi Arabia and Turkey, and also provides consulting support on entering foreign sites.

“We are also ready to help foreign partners, including those from the Middle East, find a bona fide supplier of Russian products and establish regular supplies. In general, such support allows Russian agricultural producers to enter the markets of the Persian Gulf, expand exports and strengthen their positions in these countries,” she added.
