The Dubai World Trade Center hosts the main food exhibition in the region – Gulfood 2017. 5000 exhibitors from 120 countries take part in it. The Gulfood presents a wide range of new concepts and products of manufacturers and suppliers who want to enter the rapidly developing UAE food market. According to experts’ forecasts, the market will grow to US $ 13.2 billion by 2018.

Gulfood 2017 will work for five days and will attract about 90,000 food professionals from 150 countries.

“The demand of buyers for healthy and halal products of reliable origin has turned Gulfood 2017 into a platform for rethinking the world food sector. The exhibition has already established itself as a global hotbed of unique business opportunities,” – said Trixie LohMirmand, Senior Vice-President, Exhibitions and Events Management, Dubai World Trade Centre.

5000 exhibitors from 120 countries showcase their products and services, wishing to take their place in the multibillion-dollar food market of the Persian Gulf. Over 2000 participants make their debut at the exhibition.

Within the framework of Gulfood 2017 which also hosts the world’s biggest annual Halal food sourcing trade show-in-show in Halal World Food.

Geographic diversity at Gulfood is represented by 120 national pavilions, with four countries Azerbaijan, Finland, Malta and Somalia represented for the first time. China, India, Italy,Spain and the United States have their own pavilions. The region is represented by Egypt,Jordan, Iran, Lebanon and Morocco as well.

The food exhibition represents eight separate food markets, including beverages, fats and oils, healthy food, beans, cereals, meat and poultry, and world food leaders.

For the fourth year in a row, Halal World Food has attracted more than 1000 internationalspecialized companies, manufacturers of halal products.

The show also hosts the annual Emirates Culinary Guild International Salon Culinaire – the world’s largest single-entry chefs’ competition. The 2017 Salon Culinaire will see more than 1,000 of the region’s top professional chefs, pastry chefs, cooks and bakers compete for honours accredited by an expert panel mandated by the World Association of Chefs Societies. Besides, Gulfood 2017 hosts the Russian Gastro Week. Meeting with Russian producers and their products Russian Gastro Week – “Taste of Russia” is aimed to establish a direct dialogue between Russian food industry exporters and key players in the UAE and the Gulf countries food import market.

“Russian Gastro Week is a special hybrid format of the event, carrying the features of an industry-wide integrated business mission, separate elements of a classical fair, presentation and tasting of products and exchanges of contacts. About 50 Russian companies that produce meat, groceries, confectionery products and healthy food, including honey, nuts and fitness bars, participate in the event,” – said Andrei Arkhipov, Director for International Projects, REC.

The exhibition will last until March 2.
