Expo Centre Sharjah joins the world in commemorating the 7th annual Global Exhibitions Day that will take place on 1st June, 2022, with the production of an outstanding media film published on its digital platforms on social media.

The Film reflects the Centre’s efforts to revive the exhibitions and conferences sector through utilising innovative protocols and global practices.

Moreover, Expo Centre Sharjah celebrates its several achievements over the past 45 years on the 7th annual Global Exhibitions Day. Such participations reflect the Centre’s expanding events calendar and its remarkable accomplishments of hosting more than 40 exhibitions in a single year, establishing itself as a regional and global leader in the exhibition sector.

Expo Centre Sharjah has made significant contributions to the exhibition sector by holding numerous local and international shows in the first half of 2021. With a 200 percent increase in the number of exhibitions held compared to the same period in 2020, the Centre will hold three new exhibitions for the first time in 2022, including the Gulf Coatings Show 2022, the Hive Furniture Show, and the 7th edition of the ‘Paper One Show’.

Since 2020, Expo Centre Sharjah has played a major role in the enhancement of several global and regional exhibitions by signing 20 Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) and cooperation agreements with international exhibition institutions and hosting more than 12 foreign official delegations.

Furthermore, Expo Centre Sharjah was an official sponsor of the Global Association of the Exhibition Industry (UFI) Middle East and Africa forum, in addition to attending several international events such as the 88th UFI Global Congress in the Netherlands.

Saif Mohammed Al Midfa, CEO of Expo Centre Sharjah, stated that the Centre has been successful in elevating the Emirate’s position as one of the top cities in the exhibition business throughout the years. As a result, Sharjah has become a distinguished platform due to its unique economic position both regionally and globally, geographical location, and advanced infrastructure. Many significant exhibitions have taken place on this platform, including Sharjah International Book Fair (SIBF), Watch and Jewellery Middle East Show (WJMES), International Education Show (IES), Acres Real Estate Exhibition, and SteelFab.

“The Expo Centre Sharjah was successful in accomplishing the objectives of the Five-Year Strategy for 2018-2022. This was achieved by utilising qualified human resources, implementing modern marketing strategies, constantly developing service facilities, and organising numerous nonstop marketing events and festivals,” Al Midfa maintained, adding “The overarching goal of the Expo Centre Sharjah was to address the needs of every segment of the local society and to promote diverse economic and trade sectors.”
