The audience of Abu Dhabi International Hunting and Equestrian Exhibition (ADIHEX), particularly tens of thousands of falconers in the region, are attracted annually to visit and see the latest products and equipment that are up to date with the developments of the falconry world, where heritage blends with technology, which is harnessed to serve falconers.

A large number of falcons’ breeders and specialists in breeding, training and caring, as well as manufacturers and innovators of falconry tools and supplies, are keen on attending this event which has become a unique destination for falconers from all over the world, and a forum to consult and exchange experiences on falconry and sustainable hunting.

Attracted by folkloric falconry shows, platforms specialised for captive-bred falcons, and exciting heritage competitions, ADIHEX’s audience, including individuals and families, is used to attending its events annually.

The next 19th edition of the exhibition “ADIHEX 2022” will be organised by Emirates Falconers’ Club from 26th September to 2nd October. The exhibition will be sponsored by the Environment Agency – Abu Dhabi, International Fund for Houbara Conservation and Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre where the event is being held.

Majid Ali Al Mansouri, Chairman of the Higher Organising Committee of ADIHEX and Secretary-General of the Emirates Falconers’ Club, said that ADIHEX promotes and maintains the UAE’s global leadership in the sport of falconry and helps it pass through generations. It further enhances the efforts exerted to preserve falconry as human heritage, maintains the natural balance and preserves species through promoting sustainable hunting.

Al Mansouri said that the unlimited support to ADIHEX and the great efforts provided by President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, to preserve the heritage, are the key factor for achieving regional and international success for this event.

Thanks to the ongoing guidance of the event’s patron, H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler’s Representative in Al Dhafra Region and Chairman of Emirates Falconers’ Club, the event manages to garner the world’s attention to the UAE capital, to promote sustainable hunting and preserve heritage.

The Falconry Sector, including manufacturing and designing falconry equipment, adds great value to ADIHEX as the most prominent event that the fans await every year since its first edition in 2003.

The exhibiting companies in this sector increased their sales significantly by meeting with high profile officials interested in falconry, industry leaders and marketing experts.

ADIHEX has wide-scale participation from regional and international organisations and institutions concerned with promoting hunting sports and preserving species.

Falconry is practiced in various continents of the world, whereas the international efforts led by UAE succeeded in registering falconry as a living human heritage in the UNESCO list for Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity in November 2010. Consequently, falconry gained the most prestigious and important international recognition for its societal traditions and values inherited throughout thousands of years.

Emirates Falconers’ Club, the organiser of ADIHEX, had a fundamental role to register falconry in the UNESCO list, which includes 24 states up till now.

The visitors of ADIHEX are annually introduced to the Falcon Release Programme, which is considered one of the long-standing traditions created and established by the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan in the field of protecting species since 1995 until today. This programme has released more than 2,000 falcons (Peregrine and Saker types), allowing them to breed in their original habitat and increase their numbers.
